Operations ABF is a scalable and flexible department that provides predictable, efficient and high-quality services to our customers. On time within ambitious service levels, of high and pre-agreed predictable quality. Operations ABF is aware of its important role in ABF's risk management, based on the moderate risk profile. And is involved from the start to guarantee our customers a smooth and problem-free customer journey. Local for local teams in each country - in addition to the Netherlands also in Germany, France and the UK - take care of collection- and customer service tasks, including administrative tasks, which require regular communication with customers and debtors. In addition in the Netherlands we have a centralized team for administrative processes that do not require regular customer or debtor contact. It is the expertise of Operations to have lean, straight through and as digitalized and harmonized processes as possible. This contributes to a scalable IT landscape, ready for a future as part of ABN AMRO Bank's IT landscape. 

Operations ABF stands for strong partnership with all relevant stakeholders, such as relevant stakeholders at ABF, local ABF MTs and colleagues in all countries and ABN AMRO Bank, to ensure that Operations ABF is future-proof and state-of-the-art. 

I am looking for a strong and connecting leader for the new Operations Lease team, consisting of the central handling of all operational tasks for NL, GE and the UK and the local handling of operational tasks which require contact with Dutch customers and debtors. This function has an international component, namely being part of the leasing chain across three countries and being the point of contact for the local (CCO) MTs of NL, GE and UK for the operational handling of all centralized tasks for our Lease customers.

Your job

The Business Lead for Lease is expected to be a link in the web between IT, local and international CCO organizations, branches in the countries, relevant functions and ABN AMRO and Operations.

The business lead's assignment is to identify which short-term improvements in processes and applications are possible, to prioritize and implement them. Taking into account the strategy and priorities of ABF and ABN AMRO bank. In addition, in the medium term, to contribute to a new leasing landscape and to safeguard the requirements of Operations in it. Furthermore there will always be central projects which require involvement of Operations. 

Initially, the current processes and controls must be examined, made more robust and roles and responsibilities in the chain must be coordinated and clearly defined. An excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with the processes. Due to the many manual actions, you can also expect regular disruptions. We expect you to follow the appropriate tools and processes and ensure sustainable solutions that are firmly embedded in the team. The motto should be, don't tell me, show me.

Moreover, in this new team, a logical and efficient distribution of tasks across the central and local part of the team and the different roles must be re-examined. A fun job to shape together with your team.

It is not nothing that we ask, but to help you with these tasks, expert roles have been set up at various levels in the team. For example, there is a domain expert who helps you with the daily management of the team, so that you can focus on improving and implementing the operations strategy having strong connections with a broad and international stakeholder environment. .

So to summarize: 

  • Setting up a (new) well-cooperating team with efficient and well-distributed tasks across the different roles
  • Implementing a new local NL role, namely that of a traffic manager, to monitor the availability of employees to answer standard questions from local customers and debtors, across different teams within ABF NL
  • Ensure lean and robust documented processes and controls and a solid implementation of improvements
  • Continuous improvement
  • Leading a team of around 25 people with different profiles and roles at different levels (Hay 5 to 11)
  • Delegate if possible, but feeling accountable and responsible for the end result
  • Crisis management in case of disruptions

Working environment

You are a member of the international MT Operations of ABF within CIOO, implementing the Operations strategy and working together to strengthen, harmonize and further automate processes. 

Within ABF you have or are building an extensive network within the leasing value chain and you also know your way around ABN AMRO. You work in an environment where there are many opportunities for improvement. We strive for the best results together in a good atmosphere and in good cooperation. Having good relationships and a healthy dose of humor are part of that.

Although you work in a matrix organization, it is still of a manageable size and with short lines of communication. You can really get something done here.

Your profile

You feel comfortable in a (sometimes complex) triple matrix organization and you are good at being a stakeholder manager. You are firm on the content, stand your ground when necessary, but also have an eye and ear for other people's points of view. Investing in good relationships in the Netherlands, but also England and Germany is part of this.

You are good at keeping an overview and setting priorities. Focus on the end result is key.

You quickly understand processes and can ask questions about root causes in case of problems. You want to know what's going on.
You are willing to invest in knowledge of the product and the process chain. You are naturally results-oriented and can clearly separate main and secondary issues.

You understand the importance of standardized and lean working in an operational environment and being able to set up products in systems in such a way that risks can be noticed and mitigated. You are able to have a good conversation about this with (commercial) colleagues to convince them of this.

You have a good sense of when you can delegate and when you should step in yourself. Even when delegating, you remain in control and feel responsible for the result. You are regularly informed and will coach the delegates on the results to be achieved.
You have a good sense of team dynamics and relationships between colleagues and teams. You stand for good cooperation and establishing relationships with important stakeholders. Organizational sensitivity is key.
